CCI warned of the risk of bankruptcy of 3 million entrepreneurs due to virus

3 million entrepreneurs were at risk of closure due to the economic consequences of coronavirus, more than 8.6 million people are at risk of losing their jobs, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry said.

“We are now assessing, unfortunately, a very high figure – about 3 million entrepreneurs may cease their activities if such complex economic processes continue. It is important now to maintain the bulk of our business, ”said Vice President of the CCI Elena Dybova at an online conference of the CCI, a RBC correspondent reported.

As the CCI survey in the regions showed, every third small business says that with a decrease in demand, another quarter will be able to survive. Half of their owners understand that they will not be able to reopen their business in the near future. Many can go bankrupt simply because of formal reasons, and according to the law after bankruptcy it is impossible to start a new business within three years, Dybova noted.
